A Bit of History
As the description says, I used to be an Australian comic artist/writer between 1983 to 1986, working for REVERIE.
If you haven't heard of Reverie, perhaps you've heard of a couple of Reverie alumni, Fil Barlow and Michael Dutkiwicz. The latter I remember last seeing drawing a Robin Annual a few years ago.
The Australian comic industry is different from America's. In America, you can afford to pay a comic artist a decent page rate...in Australia, it's cheaper to import US comics, or reprint US comics, than it is to pay both a writer and artist.
SO most of us who worked for Aussie comics did it for the love of the craft...and occasionally, some even made it to the American industry.
I haven't done much comic work in the past fifteen years, but I HAVE started doing some e-book serials.
